“I have never known more than fifteen minutes of anxiety or fear. Whenever I feel fearful emotions overtaking me, I just close my eyes & thank God that He is still on the throne reigning over everything, và I take comfort in His control over all the affairs of my life.”

1700s Theologian, John Wesley.

Bạn đang xem: What does 'let your faith be bigger than your fear' mean?

Have you been struggling or overwhelmed with challenges? Are you carrying around worry, anxieties or heaviness? Is there a situation in your life that is robbing you of your peace of mind?

Maybe you have been emotionally beaten down. Then, over time, that emotional upheaval can steal your sense of value, self-worth or well-being. Possibly, you’ve been going through difficulties, and often pangs of fear come into your mind. Or, you might be continually beating yourself up for past mistakes. And, thus, obliterating who you are & what you can accomplish for the future. Then, expecting the worse and going over all the reasons why your situation won’t work out, those negative, inner voices may tell you, “You’re not going to get ahead,” “You won’t get well,” “It’s too late, you are all done,” or “It’s so unfair, you’ll never be happy again.”

Sometimes, it can be a constant inner struggle or battle against discouragement & fear.

One small negative, fearful thought can expand và multiply & grow out of proportion. One evening this past summer, my family và I went to lớn a local carnival. While playing one of the festival games, my daughter won a set of expandable water toys called Grow Monsters. They were little sea animals & came in various colors & shapes. They were made from a superabsorbent polymer. When we got home, the girls put the novelty items into the sink full of water. After several days, the tiny sea animals expanded and grew up to lớn 100% of their original mass.

In much the same way, that is what can happen if you harbor fear. Fearful thoughts can be overwhelming và intimidating. They can dominate your thoughts and increase, compound, & build up over time. Fear can make things look bigger than they really are now.

Recently, I was driving trang chủ from work, và it was very foggy. Then, as I was driving I recalled that I read somewhere that a thick, dense fog that might cover a seven-city-block area 100 feet deep is composed of less than one glass of water. Just a little amount of water can darken an entire city. Fear & anxiety are like that; a small amount could keep you from enjoying your life.

How much time are you wasting thinking about things that are not really important? If we spend our days diverted, upset & stressed out, letting everything affect us, then we won’t have time khổng lồ focus on what’s important và enjoy life’s utmost blessings.

Could it be that you are carrying burdens that God did not intend you khổng lồ bear?

Today, break away from the fear và what’s holding you back. Release the weight of it.

This is your time; it’s your day khổng lồ be mix free.

God tells us how to lớn be in peace. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3). Thus, bởi not measure problems according khổng lồ your own abilities. Instead, hand situations that you cannot manage yourself over lớn God … and He will vì chưng the rest.

When you wake up each morning, keep God foremost in your mind. Pause to pray & praise Him. Then, during the day, ponder upon God’s presence & know that He is with you wherever you go. Don’t let your imagination run wild, or allow negative images lớn play lượt thích an old movie in your mind. If something happens that causes you to lớn worry, refuse lớn give in to lớn it. Rather, build your faith by replacing fears by verbally reciting God’s truths:

* God told Isaiah, “Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 40:31).

* David wrote, “The Lord is my light and my deliverer. Whom then shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).

* When Jonah was in the belly of the great fish, he focused on God & uttered, “When I had lost all hope, I turned my thoughts once more khổng lồ the Lord.” (Jonah 2:7).

* The Psalmist said, “I sought the Lord and He heard me và delivered me from all of my fears.” (Psalm 34:4).

* and Paul inscribed, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31).

Cast your cares on God, for He will intervene, meet your needs and bring all things together for your highest good. It is only a matter of time before circumstances turn around. There is nothing too big or so broken that God cannot renew and restore it. Và you will not only regain what you have lost, but in addition, God will give you much more. Reader Steve Etzel wrote via email, “There has never been a problem that God wasn’t fully able lớn solve. He has already guaranteed us the victory & success over all. So as we seek Him more and keep Him first in our thoughts, the bad junk fades away.” So, change your focus from fear lớn the faithfulness of God. Try this idea: Relive moments of joy. Think about fond memories. Be thankful for those good things that God has done for you. Your perspective will change. Và before you know it, you’ll forget about the worries, fears or pain of the past and rejoice in the present and the future!

* Every day God thinks of you. (Psalm 68:19).

* Every hour God looks after you. (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

* Every minute God cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7).

* Because every second… He loves you. (Jeremiah 3 1:3)

Boldly choose khổng lồ live each day full of hope, joy & peace. Regardless of what you’re up against, God is saying to lớn you today, “Do not be afraid.” “Be strong and courageous.” “Fear not.” “You can trust me.” Let your faith be bigger than your fear. You’re near lớn the success you seek in all areas of your life. So take a single, courageous step forward into the amazing future of blessings God has in store for you.
